Site that formed an important part of the Inca road network known as the great “Qhapac ñam”, classified for its construction as a center for agricultural experimentation due to the design of the platforms and the impressive architecture of its underground channels, among which appeared The most outstanding of this place are the royal enclosures, where important people lived, such as the Inca royal family, built on the basis of megalithic stone blocks. Within these are the water sources, irrigation channels, and their beautiful gardens on the Inca terraces. Other places, like the Intiwatana, known as the solar altar, are rooms built with trapezoidal windows where through the window you have a spectacular view of Tipon.

Pikillaqta Archaeological Site
The wonderful archaeological center of Pikillaqta that corresponds to the development of the Wari empire, a pre-Inca culture translated into Spanish, is a flea village or small town located 31 km. Southeast of the city of Cusco at 3,251 meters above sea level. Covering an approximate area of 50 hectares, the construction of this site is in the pirka style, which consists of uncarved stones covered with clay or mud with mortar that serves as mortar or for firing the wall that measures up to 12 meters in height. Pikillaqta is a site that gives a lot of impression in the urban division with a very harmonious and almost perfect plan in the rectangular and square shape of the buildings, courts, and squares.
Separated by straight streets, it contains a total of 700 buildings, 200 courts, and 508 warehouses, or colcas, located to the northwest, each of which measures 4 m2 with a single entrance. Among other buildings, it is estimated that this archaeological site in pre-Inca times was inhabited by some ten thousand people between the years 700 and 800 d.c., during which it had an intense activity where the city was kept alive with a supply from a system of underground water channels.
Andahuaylillas, Sistine Chapel
The World Monuments Fund recognizes it as an outstanding monument due to the murals that are in this fascinating place, including some religious images that were conceived by the linguist parish priest Juan Pérez de Bocanegra. Inside the church, you can see a motto written in five Spanish languages: Latin, Quechua, Aymara, and the last one that was lost over the years, Pukina.
“I baptize you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen.” Also inside the church you can see didactic images that instilled in the indigenous or Incas a belief in the Catholic faith. It was built in two styles, the popular Renaissance exterior and the interior part of European classic baroque style with an expression in fusion of cultures. The ceiling is covered in a Mudejar style with floral and fruit creativity covered or bathed in gold leaf.
