Complete itinerary of the tour to Choquequirao Todo Incluido

On our first day of trekking to Choquequirao, we will start at 6:30 a.m. and board our tourist transport in the direction of the town of Curahuasi, where we will have breakfast and continue traveling to the town of Capuliyoq.

Already in Capuliyoq, we will have our lunch and then begin our walk towards our first camp, Chikiska, which is at 1,900 m, a section of road of pure descent.

Throughout our journey, we will be surrounded by plenty of Flora and Fauna, and we will also have a spectacular view of the Apurimac Canyon and, in the distance, the archaeological center of Choquequirao.

First day details

Our walk will start at 7 a.m. In the direction of the next Marampata camp, cross the Rosalinas beach bridge, which is located 1,500 m from where the Apurmac river meets; from this point, the strong stretch of ascent along the bridle path will begin; the Marampata camp is located after 14 km of pure ascent.

We will have a break for lunch in Santa Rosa Baja, and we will spend the night in the Marampata camp, to visit the Inca citadel of Choquequirao the next day.

We will start very early (6 a.m.) to calmly explore the Inca ruins of Choquequirao; the distance of this route is 7 km.

This day will be full of wonder and questions, because we will explore all of Choquequirao. Before we walk around the whole place, our tour guide will talk about this incredible place.

The last sanctuary, “Choquequirao,”

Choquequirao continues to be discovered, since it still only has 40% of being discovered by the Ministry of Culture and has already surprised many travelers from all over the world. Here we explain the discovered sectors.

Llamas Sector, which has more than 22 recorded llamas on the 15 terraces and 1 graded shepherd or muleteer on the penultimate platform.

Households: Next to the plaza there are some five houses, which were built for the priests of Choquequirao, suggesting that this place was a very important ceremonial center.

Kallankas are rectangular centers specifically used as workshops, meeting spaces, or administrative centers. Here in Choquequirao, we have two Kallankas with water channels that supply these places.

On our last walk back to Cusco, we will start at 6 a.m. to go down through the camps of Santa Rosa Baja, Playa Rosalina, and we will have lunch in the Chikiska camp. After this, we will have a strong stretch of ascent to the town of Capuliyoc, which is 22 km away, where our tourist transport awaits us to return to the city of Cusco.

Before concluding with this trek to Choquequirao, we will enjoy the Capuliyoq viewpoint, where at around 3 p.m., 4 p.m., and 5 p.m. in the afternoon, the most giant bird in South America, the condor, begins to make its magical flight.
